ONLY WHEN INDICATED. AGAIN, THIS IS
NOT A COOKIE CUTTER PROGRAM
Decompression/Spinal Traction:
A spinal decompression is a chiropractic technique, much like a chiropractic adjustment. Dr.Reynolds will use a moving, motorized table as well as her hands to target the spine, specifically bulging and herniated discs. Throughout the session, Dr.Reynolds will focus on the lower back or neck. As the patient lies still on the motorized table, damaged vertebral discs begin healing by being rehydrated, known as imbrication.
Spinal Decompression Benefits
Spinal decompression using the Triton Decompression Table has an excellent success rate at Reynolds Chiropractic. We offer this amazing spinal decompression machine to treat and give relief for pain from such things as:
- Crushed, ruptured, and/or herniated disks
- Sciatica pain
- Neck pain
- Pain from spinal stenosis
- Pain from degenerative disk disease
- Hip pain
- Headaches from misaligned disks
- Leg and arm pain from misaligned disks
- Limited range of motion from misaligned disks
How Does It Feel?
Our patients are usually very surprised with how relaxing it is. In fact, it is not uncommon for us to wake a patient from a nice nap even though the treatment lasts less than 15 minutes!
Interferential Therapy / Interferential Current (IFC)
Commonly Known as Electric Muscle Stimulation:
We use this modality mostly for low back, mid back, upper back, neck, shoulder and hip pain.
To most patients it feels like a deep “buzzing” massage!
The are 4 main clinical applications for which IFT appears to be used:
- Pain relief
- Muscle stimulation
- Increased local blood flow
- Reduction of inflammation
In addition, claims are made for its role in stimulating healing and repair.
The basic principle of Interferential Therapy (IFT) is to utilize the strong physiologicaportable effects of low frequency electrical stimulation of nerves without the associated painful and somewhat unpleasant side effects sometimes associated with low frequency stim.
As IFT acts primarily on the excitable (nerve) tissues, the strongest effects are likely to be those which are a direct result of such stimulation (i.e. pain relief and muscle stimulation). The other effects are more likely to be secondary consequences of these.
Ultra Sound:
Applications of ultrasound in medicine for therapeutic purposes have been an accepted and beneficial use of ultrasonic biological effects for many years. Low power ultrasound of about 1 MHz frequency has been widely applied since the 1950s for physical therapy in conditions such as tendinitis or bursitis plantar fasciitis and much more.
In our office we utilize this modality mostly for plantar fasciitis which is thought to help alleviate the adhesions in the fascia on the bottom of your foot when needed. Foot orthotics are also recommended to help prevent Plantar Fasciitis flare-ups.
Cold Laser Therapy:
Laser therapy localizes treatment to significantly reduce pain, and promote faster healing for a variety of joint, muscle, circulatory and inflammatory conditions. Laser therapy has proven to reduce inflammation, increase blood flow, restore normal tissue growth, and stimulate the body’s ability to naturally heal itself.
Most patients feel immediate results with just one laser therapy treatment. Laser therapy is also highly effective for people recovering from injuries, sprains, strains, post-surgery wounds, and more.
How does laser therapy work?
Laser therapy is a non-invasive treatment that aids in the healing process by increasing blood flow and oxygen to your cells, which helps speed your healing time.
How are laser therapy treatments administered?
Treatments must be administered directly to skin. You will feel a soothing warmth as the therapy is administered with no pain at all.
How many treatments are needed?
Each patient and their conditions are unique. Most need between 5 or 10 treatments each lasting less than 5 minutes. The moment a patient leaves the clinic, he or she can resume normal daily activity but depending on your condition it’s important to follow the specified restrictions recommended by Dr. Reynolds as the body is still healing.
Exercise Recommendations for your specific needs:
What can I do to help myself recover faster?
It’s a great question — and we LOVE to hear it! The answer is not what everyone is sooo excited to hear, but for the ones who DO engage in our recommendations, actually see less of us!
Dr. Reynolds helps patients reach their goals faster, more completely, and longer lasting through combined exercise, manual therapy techniques, and home exercise prescriptions for core stability and balance. Scientific studies have consistently shown superior clinical results through combining chiropractic manipulative therapy with exercise rehabilitation. Patients are delighted with their superior results only possible through the phenomenal changes in strength and balance they gain by embracing their core strengthening exercise program recommended for their specific needs.
Tissue Work
- Do you feel tightness or pain in your back, neck, or shoulders?
- Are you suffering from decreased mobility?
Our bodies take a lot of abuse on a daily basis: sitting too long, being tense, sleeping in contorted positions, working out too much, sustaining injuries, and so on. When a person has spent years beating himself or herself up—either purposefully or not—scar tissue will develop. When scar tissue develops, muscles stop working properly. As a result, the scar tissue must be broken up in order to regain normal muscular function.
At Reynolds Chiropractic, Dr. Dolores Reynolds uses a process called Myofascial Release therapy to help “release” the pressure or tension in muscles because of restrictions in the connective tissue surrounding the muscles causing general tightness or scar tissue buildup. The most common ailments we use Myofascial Release therapy for are upper and lower back pain and neck pain.
Myofascial Release therapy involves using hands on technique to help loosen tissue to allow greater mobility and less pain for the patient. Ultimately, to give relief to the patient, the therapy focuses on targeted soft tissue manipulation, possibly in conjunction with other forms of therapy.
When indicated, this therapy can enhance and prolong your adjustment.
Custom Orthotics:
The Difference of Custom Orthotics
Only Foot Levelers functional orthotics support all 3 arches of the foot, which make up the plantar vault. They’re custom-made by hand based on your unique feet, body and health profile. Just as no two bodies are alike, no two pairs of Foot Levelers custom orthotics are alike.
Over-the-counter orthotics may initially cost less, but they only support one arch in your foot. When only one arch is being supported, it may not maintain the structure of your plantar vault, and problems can start in other parts of your body. In fact, “over-supporting” just one arch of the foot may actually cause pain and symptoms, not relieve them.
Do you experience pain daily? Over-the-counter inserts may not provide the relief you need. Individually designed, Foot Levelers custom orthotics with 3-arch support, however, can.
Orthotics are custom-crafted footbeds that fit inside your shoes. They correct imbalance, remove pain and help enable you to achieve peak performance through mechanical efficiency.
Custom orthotics may be critical for patients with chronic back pain, scoliosis, foot / knee / hip pain, and to produce peak performance in athletes involved in running or lifting sports. If your pain is worse when you’re up and about, custom orthotics may be the missing piece to your recovery.
Nutritional Counseling:
- Is there more to resolving physical pain than receiving a series of chiropractic sessions?
- Are there some simple long-term solutions that can lead to a road of health and happiness?
- How important is nutrition to our overall health?
The process to resolving back, neck, joint, leg, and other body pain and issues does not stop with chiropractic manipulation alone. The complete solution also accompanies a wellness approach, including a focus on nutrition and exercise.
Dr. Reynolds is very interested in what you are eating and will ask. She is interested in helping you start out making some smart choices in your own diet and give you some hints on how to start implementing these changes at home. Just getting people to give up soda is monumental, but if someone is not willing to do that, then Dr. Reynolds does not recommend a monetary investment in shakes and supplements. It would be wasting money. When people are serious about improving their health and can make the changes with pure grit, then the big guns come out and big progress can be made!
There are a lot of great programs out there to help you improve your health and lose weight as well. Having access to them all (Standard Process, NutriWest, Solutions 4 and more) Dr. Reynolds can recommend programs for you. Then, when you are ready, these neat nutritional programs can be utilized to take you even further in your journey with cellular detoxification, weight loss and then let the ENERGY FLOW! Now you can be more assured you won’t be wasting your money!
